"Long Snapper - The only position on a football team that has to be perfect 100% of the time"
- Zach Taylor
Zach attended Westlake HS in Austin, TX before he headed to Blinn College where they were crowned 2006 NJCAA National Champions! Standing at 6’4” and weighing 230lbs, Zach Taylor ranked as the top-rated JUCO snapper in the country and also awarded SWJCFC academic all-conference honors in 2006.
In 2008, Zach earned a Full-Ride Scholarship & won the starting job at University of Oregon during fall camp, seeing action in all 13 games during the Ducks football season winning the Holiday Bowl in 2008. Zach Taylor was credited with a pair of tackles on the year, including a solo stop in the win at Oregon State.
“I noticed Zach snapping a football during a Pop Warner practice when he was in the 5th grade. I was amazed at his raw potential, so we began working on his snaps almost on a daily basis. Zach’s drive, discipline and incredible work ethic throughout the years enabled him to be recognized as the highest rated long snapper in the country coming out of Blinn Junior College, which had just won the 2006 NJCAA National Championship. Watching Zach play on ESPN for the University of Oregon, I couldn’t help but think back with amazement on his days as a 5th grade Pop Warner ball player. Dreams can come true with passion, discipline and hard work.”

As coaches, we know the importance of the kicking game. Quite often spectators see the kicking game as the kicker only. We always knew the snapper was as important as the kicker. We had a long line of outstanding deep snappers and Zach Taylor was the best. I will not take credit for how good he was because that occurred through his hard work and dedication. Zach spent many hours on his own practicing. Zach snapped the ball like a rocket and it was accurate. I think Zach could put the laces of the football where the holder or punter wanted them. It was a relief having a snapper like Zach. It made for one less area of the game to worry about.
- Derek Long
"Zach Taylor was our long snapper at the University of Oregon for the 2008 season. He was accurate, consistent and he could hum it back there. He also had the ability to make tackles in space. We made sure the team bus never left without Zach on it."
- Coach Mike Bellotti
“Zach Taylor was the best deep snapper I coached in 22 years. His velocity, accuracy and willingness to improve his trade showed every day. I had two deep snappers in my career that could "no-look" snap and Zach was doing it as a sophomore in college. He played a big part in our special teams success. His team could count on him in crucial moments.”
- Brad Franchione
Before I came to Blinn college I thought I seen everything on a football field until I came to my first practice at Blinn College and I kept hearing this whistling sound behind me like someone was putting a ball in the jug machine. I turned around and was amazed on how someone could snap a ball like he could. Still to this day I have never seen another person snap like him an I have played football at almost every level from high school to the pros. Hands down the greatest!!!!
-Travis Cobb
"I have been great friends with Zach for many years as we were both JUCO snappers for the 2008 class. He was an absolute monster and phenomenal athlete. To this day, I have never seen someone snap a ball as hard as Zach did with incredible accuracy which landed him a full scholarship in the Pac-12!"
- Matt W
“I met Zach when I was 16 years old and had just begun long snapping. I was going into my junior year of high school where I would be the long snapper for the JV team. I was not good enough (at the time) to even make varsity, but that would all soon change.
I attended camps regionally but most of my time spent practicing was with Zach. His skillset, knowledge and patience were instrumental in helping me go from snapping slow, dead ducks to tight spirals. He worked with me on long snapping, short snapping, blocking, coverage. He also shared with me specific workouts I could do to enhance my power in addition to advice and guidance when I would get frustrated. He would constantly reach out to me in his free time to check in and see if I needed help with anything.
All of this combined led to me being recruited as a preferred walk-on at the University of Arkansas, where I eventually earned a full ride scholarship. The foundation he helped me build allowed me the opportunity to play at the highest level of college football, truly a dream come true.
Having Zach as an instructor and a mentor made a world of a difference for me and I would highly recommend anyone looking to put in the work and enhance their skillset to work with him. If you are determined and listen well, Zach will make you a better snapper.”
- Nick Brewer
I met Coach Taylor during my sophomore year of High School. The amount of progress I made in a short amount of time once I started working with him was amazing. This is due to the amount of detail coach Taylor gives while ensuring it’s easy to understand and apply right away. I remember he went as far as teaching me different grips on the ball for different weather scenarios. The drills we did were individualized depending on how my snaps were looking and what problems I might have been facing with my snaps. After working with coach Taylor, I was able to make varsity my Junior year as a long snapper, and will now be attending SVSU to snap in College.

Long Snapper
Many people underestimate the importance of long snappers. No field goal can be kicked or ball punter without a strong and skilled long snapper. Coming into junior year I had never snapped a ball in my life. Fast forward to today I am preparing to play division 1 football at university of the incarnate word. The reason? Zach Taylor. In summer of junior year I decided to pick up long snapping, and hired coach Taylor as my coach. He taught me the fundamentals of long snapping and I earned the starting spot at my highschool. But Zach saw much more in me than I could. He furthered by taking my skills by taking them to the next level. I was ranked as the 72nd best long snapper in the nation and 9th in Texas only 6 months after beginning to work with Zach. And now I am going to be long snapping at UIW! Working with Zach is by far the best decision I have ever made. He has made me a better long snapper and a much better man. Nothing would have been possible without ZtLongsnapping!

I started out playing as a center in Pop Warner. Since I played center, I was also given the job of being the long snapper. The job didn’t mean anything special until I started middle school, when I first started working with Zach. Zach worked with me on everything to do with snapping. Whether that was the snap itself, or the details leading up to and after the snap. Zach and I worked together almost every week in order to always improve, and help me work to achieve the long-term goal of getting a scholarship offer. Zach aided me all throughout my high school career, and becoming a varsity starter for Westlake as just a sophomore wouldn’t have been possible without him. Though he was encouraging of my progress, he kept me in a mindset to never be fully satisfied with where I was, which pushed me to work harder every lesson we had. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be where I am today as a five star snapper committed to play D1 at the Air Force Academy. Zach is a great coach and an even better person, and I without a doubt recommend him if you are looking for a mentor figure in snapping.

My Son Rex has been Training with Zach Taylor of Zach Taylor Long Snapping for about 9 months. He began training with him in the summer of 2019 and Zach helped him improve immediately. My son went from being a 3 ½ Star Snapper to a 4 Star Ranking in a short amount of time.
He also helped Rex gain a spot on the USA Football U-16National Team where he excelled in the International Bowl Game at AT&T Stadium with Zach’s Coaching and guidance.
After working with Zach, a couple of Months, Rex had one of his strongest showings yet at the Kohl’s Kicking National Scholarship Camp last summer Rex scored on all but one of his charted long snaps and finished with the second highest chart for his class 2022. Not only did he finish the charting portion well, he provided an easy ball for the punters to handle per Kohl’s kicking comments about Rex after the camp!
Rex also had very strong showing at numerous college football camps last summer – Zach explained to him the process and what he needed to focus on at these camps where the competition is tough and how to stand out among the competitors.
I am really excited to see how far Zach takes Rex the next two years!!

"Zach completely revitalized longsnapping for me. I was a little bit at a loss as to why I was not getting much better, I decided to do a lesson with Zach and instantly I was much more accurate and fast with my snaps. Zach has opened many door for me by making me so much better. I couldn’t be where I am with snapping without Zach’s influence on my form and mental game."

"Zach played with me on an amazing football team at Blinn (JUCO) that won a National Championship. Watching Zach snap the ball was simply amazing, getting down the field beating some of the best athletes I've seen to make a tackle. Off the field he was an even better person in the weight room, always pushing us and himself to be great"
- Walner Leandre
"Coach Zach is a fine person with a great personality which makes it easy for him to relate to my son. His teaching and real-life experience has set my son on a steady path of improvement. Coach Zach is adaptable to students' preferred methods of snapping and this very fact has led to mine and several other of his students having great success at national camps. I highly recommend Coach Zach as a fabulous coach for longsnapping, to include blocking and coverage down the field."

When I moved to Texas to attend and play Football for Texas State University, I was looking for a Long Snapping Coach to assist me with making some adjustments on my snapping technique. After calling Zach and talking to him about my situation, he immediately bought into me, and was willing to do whatever he could to make my snaps faster and more accurate. His extensive knowledge of the position allowed him to make minor adjustments to my technique that added up to a much tighter spiral, more velocity on my ball and a very accurate placement. He also put a big emphasis on blocking after the snap, and how to efficiently move from follow through to kick step. Perhaps my favorite thing about working with Zach was that he always wanted me to be comfortable with my technique, allowing me to snap how I wanted to while still finding small adjustments to make me better. Zach is also much more than just a snapping coach; he is a mentor and for me was a mental coach as well. He constantly was calling or texting me throughout the week to see how my snaps were and how I was doing mentally.
Working with Zach has been a blessing. During his 1-on-1 sessions, we have made major improvements in all areas of my snapping technique. He is one of the best long snapping coaches I have had the pleasure of working with and has the ability towork with any level of experience with snapping, from first timers to College snappers like myself. I would highly recommend Zach to anyone, whether it be 1-on-1 lessons, group sessions or the virtual lessons he offers, Zach will make you a better Long Snapper.

I’ve been a volleyball coach at the national, collegiate and club level for over 30 years and have learned over the years to keep my eye out on good teachers of the game, individuals of impeccable character and mentors who are passionate about investing in athletes and give them the tools and confidence to be the best they can be. Zach Taylor hits the mark in all these areas and more. He’s been an influential part of my son’s growth as an athlete, man and football player. Zach brings out the best in him. Zach is very process oriented, communicates clearly and gives the appropriate feedback of correction and for growth.

"Zach Taylor had the most velocity on a snap I've ever witnessed. Being a punter and placeholder at the University of Oregon with Zach, his snaps would literally hurt to catch sometimes. His knowledge of form and technique can be very, very valuable for athletes looking to learn how to snap or elevate their skills."

"With my profession as a varsity football coach and special-teams coordinator, the importance of a long snapper is tremendous for our team. Meeting Zach and watching his clinic on long snapping was very beneficial to our program, in fact so much so I even trusted him with instructing my 14-year-old incoming freshman son. His knowledge of the technique and his patience during instruction has proven to be the key to a successful training."

"I met Coach Taylor going into my summer before senior year of high school. I had already been to several camp before starting to train with him. The improvements I saw after just a few session with him were tremendous. He was able to change even the smallest things which allowed me to see an immediate impact. His ability to create unique training plans for each of his athletes delivers results. After training with Coach Taylor over the summer it allowed me to improve my ranking, seeding me as one of the top Long snapper in the country."

"I have just recently committed to college to play the longsnapping position. To better prepare myself I set out to find a trainer and not only did I find just a trainer I found the best one out there. Not only can Zach Taylor teach how to snap a ball to a new comer he is able to make an already great long snapper 100x better. Zach Taylor takes the time to really look deep into what can make you a better snapper, whether it’s breaking down video clips, taking notes or even showing you himself. This is because Zach wants me to succeed as a player and does not just look at me as a client. Zach is really flexible in his time as many times I was not able to make my lesson he just said no problem and we rescheduled. Zach does not only work with me from when my lesson starts to finish he will see if I need help around the clock and really takes the time out of his day to make time the best player I can be. If you want the best longsnapping trainer or to meet a great person, Zach Taylor is the guy @ztlongsnapping."

"Zach taught me so much more about long snapping than I had known prior to working with him. The results did not lie as my accuracy, speed, and spiral all improved in just a few hours while working with him. My coaches also noticed a difference as my time improved even while snapping a water logged ball in the rain during practice all week. Zach has a great eye for picking out the minor details that make the biggest difference in snapping. All in all I’m very glad that I was able to take coaching from Zach as he truly knows his craft."
